This fountain pen has never been inked, does not come with the original box, documentation - I consider this pen New Old Stock and Mint Condition.This Limited Edition Fountain Pen is the second limited edition from Classic Pens (CP) and is series CP2. It was a cooperation between Classic Pens, Sheaffer and Pushkin Prizes, a literary awards program for children in Ireland presided over by the Duchess of Abercorn, descendant of Aleksandr Pushkin, the founding father of modern Russian literature. The CP2 series was launched in 1993 and consisted of a limited edition of 500 pens. The CP2 pens are therefore are very exclusive, scarce, and desirable. The CP2 Crest is fully covered in sterling silver. It was offered in a single world wide edition of 500 pens in an elaborate Barleycorn pattern. The Crest replicates the elegant design of the Sheaffer esteemed Snorkel pen of the 1950s. The pens are laser engraved on the cap banding with the CP2 logo and the individual limited edition number. The cap band is engraved with the manufacturer's name, Sheaffer, and the pens carry the London Assay Office sterling silver mark. This CP2 is a Prototype example which does not carry the limited edition number and this is how you are able to determine if the CP2 was a prototype or not.This Sheaffer Crest CP2 Pushkin displays a beautiful Sterling Silver barleycorn pattern with 23K Gold Electroplated Clip fitted with a solid 18K/750 gold nib. The cap and barrel have absolutely no damage, dents, wear to the finish. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The trim is perfect with no scratches or brassing. This fountain pen has never been inked and in Mint Condition. This Fountain Pen measures 5 5/8" inches capped and 6 1/4" posted.The cap is laser engraved with the stanza in original Russian and Aleksandr Pushkin's signature. The stanza is one of Pushkin's most favorite phrases and the translates to: 'AND FINGERS YEARN FOR PEN, PEN FOR PAPER, A MOMENT ... AND VERSES FREELY FLOW.'This writing instrument is a Sheaffer Crest CP2 Pushkin Fountain Pen and a Prototype and does not carry the Limited Edition numbering on the cap banding. For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Limited Edition Montblanc George Bernard Shaw Fountain Pen fitted with an 18K medium nib from the 2008 Writer's Series collection. This particular pen is limited edition number 5640 out of 16000. This pen comes with the original boxes, Montblanc Literature, and the original nib sticker affixed to the blind cap. This fountain pen has never been inked, is considered New Old Stock, and is in Mint Condition. The fountain pen displays dark green marbled lacquer punctuated with platinum-plated fittings. These are the style features of the Writers Edition in honor of the distinguished Irish free thinker George Bernard Shaw. This pen is inspired by Shaw’s best-known character from his play “Pygmalion” - Eliza Doolittle. Just as Eliza, a poor flower girl, is brought up to be an aristocratic lady, the fine platinum of the pen is replaced more and more towards the cap by the opulent dark green of the precious resin. This deep, marbled green, indeed, originally represents the lush green meadows of Ireland that Shaw left behind. Launched in 2008 the George Bernard Shaw Limited Edition Fountain Pen body displays a dark green marbled luxury resin with platinum-plated fittings. The Montblanc snow cap at the top of the cap is made of ivory-colored antique resin. The cap and barrel are in excellent condition with no cracks, nicks, dings, dents, scratches, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The fountain pen measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 3/8" posted. The left cap side displays the limited edition number 5640/1600 and the right side of the cap displays Shaw's sweeping signature. The George Bernard Shaw Fountain Pen comes with the original boxes and literature you see in the images, which all are in excellent condition.This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system that I have tested with water and works as it was designed to. I have taken apart the piston to clean and grease it along with cleaning the inside of the barrel. The piston works as it should and smoothly. Additionally, when removing the piston and nib from the pen, there were never any traces of ink. This is how I have concluded the fountain pen has never been inked and is in Mint condition.This pen has an 18-karat gold platinum nib that pays homage to Eliza Doolittle's flower as the theme for the pattern on the nib and it is one of the most beautiful nib designs I've seen so far, delicate and well-detailed. The nib is engraved with "4810, 18K/750, Montblanc, 2008". The Montblanc NIB's writing portion (iridium) measures roughly .83mm when measured with digital calipers. This nib is designated as a Medium which matches the medium nib sticker adhered to the pen. I never inked the pen to keep it in New Old Stock, Mint, Never Inked Condition.
