This is a rare and unusual Paul Wirt fountain pen with a wide gold cap band, gold ball clip and filling lever. It was an impulse purchase about 20 years ago. I knew nothing about Wirt. I used the pen for a while then put it into storage and only recently did some research into the company. I was surprised to learn that Wirt was once one of the most successful and innovative pen manufacturers in the US.
