VINTAGE WATERMAN 452 STERLING SILVER HAND ENGRAVED OVERLAY FOUNTAIN PEN #2 NIB
SOLD $506.00 Sold: Jun 27, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
VINTAGE WATERMAN 452 STERLING SILVER HAND ENGRAVED OVERLAY FOUNTAIN PEN #2 WATERMAN’S FINE 14K FLEX NIBHere is an exquisite Waterman’s 452 Sterling Silver Hand Engraved Overlay Fountain Pen. A true classic from The Golden Age of Fountain Pens.FULLY REPAIRED AND WORKING.I have been collecting, buying, and selling pens for almost 40 years. This overlay is not one of the ones I usually see. While I do not know if this overlay pattern is rare, it does not seem as common as the Filigree or the Gothic patterns, just to name two examples. This overlay is hardly worn. The engraving is crisp and is unpolished. I am of the opinion that silver overlays make Waterman Black Hard Rubber 52s warm and comfortable in the writer’s hand. This pen has a 14k Gold #2 Waterman’s Fine Flexible Nib. This nib, with only moderate pressure, can make a range of lines varying up to 2 and perhaps more line variation sizes from fine to medium to approaching broad. I do not exaggerate the flexibility of the nibs of the pens I list, and I do not apply excessive pressure when making writing samples. I want to present writing samples showing how the pen performs under normal conditions using normal writing pressure on paper and with ink that are easily obtained. This nib, not being overly soft, would be a good choice for everyday work. Read listing, view pictures, and read the table of product information for the specifics. Images are part of the description Read before you bid. Ask questions after you read and before you bid. Be sure to view my other items.
