NEVER INKED 1992 MONTBLANC ERNEST HEMINGWAY WRITERS SERIES FOUNTAIN PEN
SOLD $4,400.00 Sold: May 10, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Scarce 1992 Writers Series Montblanc Hemingway Fountain Pen Limited Edition SE2345/08 fitted with an 18K medium nib. This Hemingway Fountain Pen is scarce because the fountain pen has never been inked and comes complete with all the original boxes, Montblanc literature, and Warranty cards. The fountain pen is in Mint, Never Inked condition! In 1992, Montblanc launched its inaugural Writer's Series Edition, honoring one of the most iconic literary figures of the 20th century: Ernest Hemingway. Known for his powerful prose and richly layered narratives, Hemingway made a lasting impact with works such as For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Old Man and the Sea. The color scheme of the Montblanc Writers Edition Ernest Hemingway--coral red and dark brown--pays homage to the vintage Montblanc 139 fountain pen of the 1930s, the era during which Hemingway rose to literary prominence. The cap features polished gold-plated fittings and a clip that shines beautifully. The clip ring is engraved with "GERMANY" and the serial number "SE2345/08," as shown in the accompanying photos. This fountain pen is part of a limited series of 25,000 pieces. Notably, this first Writer's Series edition does not carry an individual limited edition number on either the cap or barrel. Both the cap and barrel are in flawless condition--free of cracks, chips, or repairs. The cap threads securely onto the barrel. Hemingway's signature and the Montblanc emblem are sharply and cleanly engraved on the cap's side, while the cap band is stamped "MONTBLANC MEISTERSTUCK EDITION." The pen measures approximately 5 1/4 inches when capped and 6 3/8 inches when posted. This pen operates with Montblanc's piston filling system, which I have tested using water. The mechanism functions smoothly, and I've cleaned and lubricated the piston for optimal performance. Upon inspection, I found no traces of ink in the barrel or on the nib, indicating the pen has never been inked. The 18-karat tri-color gold nib is engraved with "4810, 18K/750," along with the Montblanc logo. The nib is a Medium point, measuring approximately .68mm with digital calipers. I have not dipped or inked the nib, maintaining its pristine, uninked condition. As the very first model in Montblanc's Writer's Series, I've left the experience of first inking it to the next collector.Crafted in Germany, this Montblanc Hemingway fountain pen is a striking and elegant writing instrument. I would consider it to be in mint condition and never inked--an outstanding example for any serious Montblanc Writers Series collection.Make sure to review all my listings, I have other fountain pens for sale/bid.Please review all my images as they are part of the description.
