This auction is for a stunning and extremely rare 1930's Vintage nbsp;Waterman Safety pen with a Gold-Filled 18K Italian Overlay featuring: On cap and Barrel nbsp;High relief dancing cherubs with flowers and garlands. It is standard size 42 (12.5cm). The pen is extremely unique and is gorgeous. It has a retractable nib, and really is a masterpiece nbsp; br />The pen can be seen photographed in the book, The Art of Overlay In Italy 1900-1940, by M. Dansi, L. Jacopini, E. Verduci. On page 8 and 68. The seals would likely to need to repaired for writing, but is being sold as is without any rest
The pen is marked "542 1/2v" on the end of the barrel. The nib retracts and extends smoothly by turning the knob on the end of the barrel. There are no apparent scratches or dents to the engraved outer cap or barrel; the pen has standard wear, as pictured.
